Welcome to Hever School

Welcome to Hever School! We pride ourselves on being a small, friendly school set in a beautiful village that offers its children outstanding learning opportunities. We believe that a true measure of a school is not only what a child has achieved by the end of Year 6 but what they have done when they are eighty - we want to have a life-long influence on every child and instil a curiosity and a love of learning. Ours is a passionate, engaging and caring environment that will challenge your child to fulfil their considerable potential.

The pastoral care and welfare of each child is of paramount importance. Our excellent care and support, which is an important part of the curriculum, ensures that every child is nurtured and valued. Should a child require any additional support, our excellent Special Educational Needs department ensures that they receive prompt and appropriate support within the classroom or with one to one support from our highly trained teaching assistants. We are an inclusive school, committed to providing equal opportunities for everyone regardless of gender, race, religion, belief or ability.

We seek to inspire learning and enjoyment in original and imaginative ways. We have innovative, award-winning teachers who foster intellectual debate, critical thinking and independence in our wonderful student body. Our creative curriculum encourages excitement in, and engages with, all the requirements of the National Curriculum. It has been designed to inspire and motivate pupils and to make learning purposeful. Our curriculum is enhanced through the many visitors to school from different areas of expertise and themed weeks. There are also many opportunities to take part in extra-curricular activities, team events and regular educational trips.

Teaching staff, volunteers and older students offer a wide variety of clubs which include a number of sports, musical activities and seasonal pursuits, such as gardening and cooking. We are proud of our broad and enriching extra-curricular programme and encourage all students to fully participate. Our school teams play in the local leagues and Kent Games championships, as well as taking part in inter-school events.

Hever Primary School is a Church of England School and Christianity is at the heart of everything we do. Our daily whole school worship reinforces and promotes our core values of Love, Respect and Wisdom. Children are encouraged to actively participate in all the Church services they attend. We have strong links with St Peter’s Church and regularly visit for worship and praise and to develop the children's Christian understanding and their spiritual beliefs.

We hope this will give you an insight into life at Hever Primary School, but we would encourage you to visit us to see what we have to offer and how we can support your child to flourish and grow. High academic expectations and pastoral care, together with a strong Christian ethos, ensure that every child flourishes and is challenged to reach his or her full potential.

We are a busy, happy, unique community; do come and visit us. You will be very welcome!
