Admissions Arrangements including Appeals

Admission to Primary School including Appeals

We aim to make the transition to Primary school as smooth as possible for both parents and children. With this in mind, we would encourage all prospective parents to visit the school in advance. Please email the school office to make an appointment. Applications will need to  be made online directly to your local authority. As we are a Church of England Voluntary Aided school we also require an additional supplementary information form to be completed which can be obtained from the school office, or via the link below, and should be returned directly to Hever Primary School.

Once you have been offered a place at school we arrange afternoon visits in the term before your child starts. During their first week at school children attend for mornings only and every parent will be offered an interview with the class teacher.

If your child is due to start primary school in September 2022, you can appeal if you are refused a place at one of your preferred schools on National Offer Day (Tuesday 19th April 2022). You must submit your appeal before Tuesday 17th May 2022 for it to be considered by Tuesday 19th July 2022.  Any appeals received after this time will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department of Education.

For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department of Education.
