Monday
We’ve had a great first day on our residential! This afternoon, the children enjoyed orienteering and exploring the site where we’ll be staying for the week. They settled into their rooms with enthusiasm, and there was plenty of laughter as they tackled the unexpected challenge of making beds—the non-fitted sheets definitely kept us on our toes! The day ended with some relaxed free time on the field, giving everyone a chance to run around and play some games!

Tuesday
We have had a fun-filled and active day! The morning began with high ropes, where everyone showed great courage and teamwork, cheering each other on as they tackled the challenges. Later on, each group to the lake for pedalo rides – full of laughter and some very competitive games! The children also worked in teams to build giant catapults, launching balls at targets spread across the field and learning some basic engineering skills along the way. After dinner, we played capture the flag before finishing the day with a twilight walk through the woods, learning about the history of the site, playing games in the woods and tasting pine tea. Participation in the activities has been excellent throughout, and everyone is excited for tomorrow’s adventures!
Wednesday
We’ve had another fantastic day! We started by putting our shelter-building skills to the test. While the designs were impressively spacious, we quickly agreed they’d be best suited to a dry climate—they definitely weren’t waterproof! The adventure continued as the children took to the treetops on a high-ropes trail that challenged their balance and perseverance. It was amazing to see their confidence grow with every step. Later, we headed back to the lake for a fun-filled canoeing session filled with games and laughter. Although paddling proved tricky at times, everyone gave it their all and had a great time on the water. Some even went for a dip! After a bit of well-earned free time, we gathered around the campfire for an evening of songs, games—and most importantly, marshmallows!
