Hever Church of England Aided Primary School

A small school that offers your child outstanding learning opportunities

Meet the Staff

Come and meet the staff at our school!

Senior Leadership Team

Headteacher - Miss J Stratton

I love coming to Hever School each day and working in this beautiful environment with such fabulous children and staff! Outside of my working life, I enjoy playing a range of sports, going to the theatre, watching films and dancing. I also adore photography and design. I love travelling and have had the opportunity to work all over the world at various times in my life.

Senior Teacher - Teaching & Learning & Curriculum - Mrs M Draper

I have been teaching for 11 years, having graduated from the University of Greenwich. Prior to that I studied Science and Early Childhood Studies at Canterbury Christ Church University. I live in Surrey with my husband and daughter and together we love exploring historical places of interest and going to the theatre. I love working with children and am a Cub Leader for Oxted Scout Group. I joined the school in September 2016 and I am really enjoying being part of the Hever School Community.

SENCo - Mrs L Connolly

I am an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher always tackling every task with a smile and a sense of humour! I am leading the way with developing the Maths curriculum, searching for mastery, whilst developing my SENCo role throughout the school; enjoying every second. I enjoy the homely feel of a village school. Being at Hever takes me back to the start of my teaching career, embracing the care and love within small school settings. Teaching is a second career for me, qualifying as a teacher after a career in the Performing Arts. I am a Mum to a 5 year old boy spending most of my free time on the sidelines to a rugby pitch or in the outdoors somewhere, no matter what the weather. I pride myself on my professionalism and dedication to ensuring that all purposeful opportunities to learn are embraced and never missed. I am incredibly positive and ambitious in my expectations, understanding that if we don’t try to challenge ourselves, then we will never know how amazing we can be.

I feel very lucky to have joined Hever School this year with its wonderful community spirit and beautiful rural setting. I have worked for the past nine years as an Early Years Teacher in London, leading Nursery and Reception. Before training to teach I completed my degree in Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University. I live in Sevenoaks with my Fiancé and we enjoy going to concerts, art galleries and spending time by the sea.

I retrained to be a teacher over 12 years ago and have worked at many Outstanding Schools, before joining the Hever Team. I love the warm, nurturing environment, the children  and the links with the local community here at Hever. As English lead and Y6 class teacher, I am passionate about the children’s learning, especially their enjoyment of literature and reading. I am also a fluent Spanish speaker and championing the teaching of Languages at Hever with our first trip to Seville! Previous to teaching I worked in International Branding and Marketing consultancy and still retain a love of design and fashion, the theatre and travelling.
