Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Hever Church of England Primary School, a small village school, nestled in beautiful surroundings in Hever village.

At Hever CEP School, we offer a welcoming and inclusive learning environment where wellbeing and high standards of academic achievement go hand in hand. We value and celebrate diversity and are committed to enabling every child to build the confidence and resilience to flourish. Each child is supported to develop academically, socially, morally and spiritually, to create happy and well-rounded individuals. We are committed to ensuring that our children receive the best possible start to their education and leave us ready to take their role as confident and responsible young people, ready for the challenges and successes of their secondary education and our diverse society beyond.

Our vision, centred on the story of Jesus Walks on the Water (Matthew 14: 22-33), sets high expectations for our whole school community to challenge and support each other to:

  • have the COURAGE to try and the determination to PERSEVERE
  • build TRUST by being honest and thoughtful
  • show COMPASSION through acts of kindness and forgiveness
  • demonstrate our value of BELONGING treating everyone with respect and courtesy

At Hever CEP School, we aim to provide an ambitious and vibrant curriculum that builds a strong foundation and fosters a love of learning, within a safe and stimulating environment. Forest School, which is part of the curriculum for all children, provides opportunities to develop self-confidence and build strategies to assess and take risks safely. Every child’s contribution is valued and from the very beginning, we encourage independence and resilience so children have the confidence to recognise mistakes as an integral part of learning.

Our school benefits from strong partnerships with parents and carers, governors and the wider locality including Hever Castle and Bore Place. We work closely with Rev. Simon Braid from St. Peter’s Church and our Christian values underpin all aspects of our provision. These collaborations extend and enhance the core curriculum, providing real life and memorable opportunites beyond the classroom, enriching the children’s experiences and wider learning.

If our website is your first experience of Hever CEP School, then please allow us to extend a warm invitation to make a personal visit to see first-hand the stimulating education and diverse opportunities our children experience at Hever School. Please contact the school office who will be happy to arrange this.
