To our Hever Students...
Happy New Year to our Hever Community! It is not quite the start to 2021 we had in mind! Reflecting back over the last two weeks, the beginning of term seems like a long time ago!
As we were imminently welcoming back all students to Spring Term, Boris
Johnson’s announcement changed everything. Twelve hours later, we needed to
be ready to deliver 66% remote education for the whole term, as well as offer a
provision for vulnerable children and those of critical workers. Fast-forward to now
and I couldn’t be more proud of our entire community. The way in which everyone has
pulled together, switched everything to the virtual classroom and adapted our plans in such a short space of time has been inspiring. We have been overwhelmed by all the positive feedback we have received; this is very kind and really does help during challenging times.
As our 4, 5 and 6 bubble burst this week we are all working incredibly hard to deliver
85% remote provision and that teachers in particular are also delivering lessons at home,
with the same pressures, having to balance the needs of their own families and children.
To our Hever Students,
we can see you figuring out how to organize your day to best set yourself up for success. You’re learning so much about yourself, about self-discipline, and about how to steer your own ship. You’re learning to handle technology and the perseverance button, and we are so proud. Good job, distance learners and distance teachers!
