Little Red Hen... Bore Place
Acorns were so excited about going to the farm!
They started the morning Bread Baking.
Pupils discovered where flour comes from and learnt about different types of flour. They learnt how to make bread, including grinding some of their own flour, kneading and shaping the dough. Each pupil made an individual hen-shaped roll and they took their freshly baked bread home!
Lunch was enjoyed followed by a play in the ‘forest school’ park.
The afternoon included a tour of the farm and a visit to the working organic dairy farm. They learnt how the cows are looked after, what they eat, what they produce and where they live.
Finally the children practically learnt how to grow seeds and what they need to grow?
They then planted their own wheat grains to take back to school to observe growth.
Acorns ... one more step you go towards Magnolia Class!
Thank you to all involved in making this trip happen!
