A LIGHT IN THE STORM! NATIONAL DAY OF REFLECTION 2021
COVID-19: Hever Primary School reflects on 'grief' of pandemic as country falls silent to mark one year since lockdown.
Children came together on the playground in bubbles, listening to ‘A little bit of love’ by Graham Kendrick.
We met to pause, reflect and remember. Leading Lights lit 3 candles for the Trinity of Love. We experienced first hand the closure of schools and the development of online learning. Hever adapted through the challenge of Covid 19 together as a team.
From magnificent rainbow displays in windows to now yellow hearts which will placed in school to signal respect and remembrance.
We looked skywards and thanked Captain Tom for raising £33 million for the NHS. Children were engaged by the CAPTAIN SIR TOM MOORE ‘ONE HUNDRED STEPS’ BOOK - TOMORROW WILL BE A GOOD 😌 DAY!
Lastly, the children were shown a piece of art called A LIGHT IN THE STORM. This is a poignant image about isolation and the idea behind putting yellow hearts in windows. The work honors snd remembers every single person we lost - very precious lights!
During the national 1 minute reflection, Hever School Bells tolled and yellow hearts fluttered.
THANK YOU HEVER
