Internet Safety Intent
At Hever, we teach most of our internet safety lessons through Computing and PSHE lessons, overseen by our school Designated Safeguarding Leads. The curriculum intent for 'Internet Safety' is that children will be given the relevant toolkit, alongside the vocabulary needed, to understand the many positives and dangers of using the internet.
Internet Safety implementation and impact
The school has a strict Internet Protocol so that pupils are able to use the Internet safely. The Kent Learning Zone enables our children to access the Internet via a secure server. Internet Safety is taught discretely, as well as woven through all computing learning, in both a fun and informative way, using videos, games, stories and various other activities. Parents and Carers are regularly updated with guidance on online safety, whilst resources are provided to support children’s learning on this subject at home. The impact of our provision is that children will be empowered and enabled them to make the right choices when navigating online platforms.
