The Humanities Curriculum at Hever

At Hever we aim to provide a rich and broad experience to Humanities. This is achieved by an enquiry-based approach to teaching, which is designed to ensure that all geographical and historical skills are taught, practised and re-visited. Each theme is based on a key question, that through knowledge building and questioning is explored around.
During their time at Hever, the children will be encouraged to contribute and share their questions to shape the line of enquiry whilst teaching ensures coverage of key skills and knowledge.
Children will cover a range of themes, building their understanding from their start point. Below is an overview of themes, teachers plan taking account of National Curriculum objectives for each keystage and current affairs locally, nationally and internationally.
