Remote Learning

Remote Learning Offer at Hever Primary School.

 

Tier 1 – Self Isolating or waiting for test result – up to 14 days.

 

  • Parents to contact class teacher via the class email for an overview of the areas being covered during the period of isolation
  • Parents are referred to the class Curriculum Newsletter which outlines what is being covered over the term
  • Class teacher to provide Maths lesson area of learning and link to White Rose Home Learning

  • Class teacher to provide writing focus and support from Hamilton Trust

  • Spellings and Homework are provided as usual

  • Specific feedback will not be provided.

 

Tier 2 – Shielding for a length of time

 

  • Parents contact class teacher – via email at first and make a telephone appointment to speak to the class teacher.
  • Create an outline plan with the class teacher for providing support
  • Class Teacher to check in with child once a week to give verbal feedback regarding their learning – via either Zoom or the telephone.

 

In both Tier 3 and 4 situations class teachers will provide a weekly overview of the activities that are being set for the following week by 5pm on the Friday before. This will enable parents to have an overview of each day and what to expect.

 

Tier 3 – Full class Closure or ’Pod’ Pop

 

In the event of whole class self isolation – including staff – the following will be provided by the classteacher.

 

  • Set at least 3 daily tasks. (One English and Maths and one other) The class teacher should provide pupils with an outline of the day – with tasks focussed on: English (reading, phonics, writing) and Maths followed by an additional non core subject activity task.
  • The classteacher will provide a lesson introduction to each task being set – via Zoom. This session will be no longer than 20 minutes in total.
  • Feedback will be provided to written work that has been submitted to the teacher via the class email – except Maths – which will be self marking. 
  • A register will be taken of all those attending on the Zoom call. Those absent will have a welfare call.

 

Tier 4 – Local Lockdown – whole school closed

 

  • Set at least 3 daily tasks. (One English and Maths and one other) The class teacher should provide pupils with an outline of the day – with tasks focussed on: English (reading, phonics, writing) and Maths followed by an additional non core subject activity task.
  • The classteacher will provide a lesson introduction to each task being set – via Zoom. This session will be no longer than 20 minutes in total.
  • Feedback will be provided to written work that has been submitted to the teacher via the class email – except Maths – which will be self marking. 
  • A register will be taken of all those attending on the Zoom call. Those absent will have a welfare call.
  • Weekly check ins will take place – Class teachers to telephone and speak to pupils and parents.
  • Additional calls from SLT may be made.
  • SENCo will contact families of children with additional needs weekly.
