Subject Leader: Mrs R Gray
We experience the world in a cross-curricular way. Therefore, we must give children learning experiences that teach them to make meaningful links in their own lives. Teachers plan Art and DT opportunities carefully to ensure that the children develop their skills, knowledge and understanding. Our class themes and enquiries inspire topic projects. These are purposeful and cross-curricular experiences. Expectations for progress and achievement in all subjects represented in a learning project are equally high. Topic projects are inclusive, and engage children of all learning styles whilst developing their creativity, self-esteem and confidence.
Across the school we look at a variety of techniques including collage, printing, drawing, painting, textiles, computer and 3D design and also explore and reflect on work of many different artists. As well as working and developing ideas in sketch books, we like to exhibit our art around the school and in our online Gallery.
