Admissions Policy including Appeals
Admission to Primary School including Appeals
We aim to make the transition to Primary school as smooth as possible for both parents and children. With this in mind, we would encourage all prospective parents to visit the school in advance. Please email the school office to make an appointment. Applications will need to be made online directly to your local authority. As we are a Church of England Voluntary Aided school we also require an additional supplementary information form to be completed which can be obtained from the school office, or via the link below, and should be returned directly to Hever Primary School.
Once you have been offered a place at school we arrange afternoon visits in the term before your child starts. During their first week at school children attend for mornings only and every parent will be offered an interview with the class teacher.
Due to lockdown we are aware that Christian families have been unable to attend public worship. A variation of our admissions policy is below and this has been approved by the Office of the Schools Adjudicator.
If your child is due to start primary school in September 2021, and you do not get offered a place here, you can appeal between 16 April - 17 May 2021 to guarantee that your appeal will be heard by 16 July 2021. For applications made in the normal admission round, appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals. For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeals being lodged.
