Hever Church of England Aided Primary School

A small school that offers your child outstanding learning opportunities

Magnolia - Year 1

Good morning Magnolia Class.

I hope you all have lots of fun in the snow today but please keep safe and warm!

Below are some activities for you to have a go at whilst you are having fun:

- Take a photo of you and your favourite bear on an adventure (imagine how much fun Paddington would have in his wellies)

-Go on a shape hunt (indoors or outside), what 2D shapes can you find? Draw them

-Can you make a London Landmark in the snow?

- Write a postcard to Paddington about your snow day experience

- Write a diary, a day in the life of a snow day

- Practice forming your letters correctly in the snow, take a picture if you can

Thank you, Miss Bond

Welcome to Magnolia Class

At Hever School, we know how important school is for you and your child. My name is Miss Bond and I am the teacher for Magnolia Class. I, together with the Magnolia class teaching assistants, am more than  happy to help with any queries that you may have about the curriculum and school life.

In Magnolia class, we promote a learning environment which aims at all times to be happy  - because we know that happy children are responsive, receptive and enthusiastic to learning - and challenging  - because we know children are capable and keen to learn, and enjoy the challenge and the achievements that come with it.

Home and school links:

We are keen to work as closely as possible with you all the way through your child’s time at primary school. Like other teachers, Magnolia staff are available to speak with you at the end of the day. There is usually a chance to have a quick word with one of the team when you drop your child off in the morning or when you collect them in the afternoon. The children have a reading record whihc staff will check daily so please ask any question or give information in these.

Topics:

We regularly update our newsletters which can be found on the website, this will give a breakdown of the topics we are covering and enable you as parents the chance to discuss and explore the topics with your child at home.

Trips:

We arrange trips and visits throughout the school year to support and enhance our learning and the topics we are covering. DBS-checked parent helpers are always welcome to accompany us if there is enough room!
